Calculator
Air Conditioner Cost Calculator
Estimate central or window AC energy use and monthly cost from BTUs, SEER2 rating and hours.
How it is calculated
Power draw (kW) ≈ cooling capacity (kW) ÷ COP (or EER). Energy = draw × hours × days. COP/EER is on the energy rating label; 3.5–5 is typical for modern inverter split systems.
Results are estimates for planning, not bills or professional advice. For generator hookups use a transfer switch installed by a licensed electrician.
